DISHONEST MISCONDUCT

SBEU have received reports of numerous cases of members committing misconduct involving misappropriation, forging of medical leave certificate, debiting customers account without authority and other dishonest conduct. Most of them have been dismissed and the matter reported to the police.

We wish to remind all members that SBEU does not condone such irresponsible and disgraceful conduct by members and employees of banks. SBEU will call on the management to take the most severe punishment against those who are found guilty of the misconduct.

Our responsibility is only to ensure that the investigations are conducted in a fair and transparent manner.

Our own investigations and analysis of the cases reported revealed that members who resort to such misconduct almost always are those who live beyond their means and ran into debts.

The debts usually started with credit cards, vehicle installment and then borrowings from money lenders and loan sharks.

We strongly urge all members to exercise prudence and responsibility in their financial spending; otherwise  they will sink into debt and subsequently resorting to dubious and dishonest conduct.

To escape from the loan sharks and creditors, some members would then be absent from work without approved leave. This is another ground for dismissal.

You run the risk of not only losing your jobs, but face criminal prosecution and ended up in jail. Think of you family and loved ones.

We must always remind ourselves that as Bank and Finance Company employees, honesty and integrity is of paromount importance  and must be upheld at all times. There is no excuse for make use of customer's money to cover our own debts, even if it is for a temporary period.

NO TO LOAN SHARKS

Do not ever borrow money from loan sharks and moneylenders. You will find yourselves sinking deeper and deeper into debts.

We trust SBEU members will exercise our good sense & judgement. WE also call on all members to watch our for their fellow members and advise them when you see the tell-tale signs of them getting into debts.

Remember, solidarity also means that we must advise  each other on these dangers.

SBEU SAY NO TO DISHONESTY !
